My Story
I grew up in a Christian culture that didn’t value transparency, vulnerability, or authenticity. Like all of us, I experienced disappointments, losses, and relational injuries—some inflicted by others, some self-inflicted. Without tools for processing pain in healthy ways, I managed by hiding in shallow relationships and living behind a persona of who I thought I was supposed to be. Over time, that disconnection deadened my spirit. Something had to change.
My search for healing led me into relationships marked by honesty—with others and with God. That work brought restoration, which I now share with others through my practice as a psychologist.
The Details
Dr. Bray holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and an M.A. in Theological Studies from Fuller Seminary. As Founder and Director of Willowdale Counseling Center in Nashua and Concord, NH, he leads a team that has been serving individuals and churches for over 26 years. He integrates biblical truth with the best of clinical insight—drawing from attachment theory, emotionally focused therapy, internal family systems, and narrative therapy. He believes transformation happens when our personal stories are reshaped within God’s redemptive story. Helping people live into that vibrant, healing narrative is the heart of his work.

My Story
First and foremost, I am deeply curious. My desire to know and understand myself, God, and others led to life as a documentary photographer, a crash course in hearing and honoring people’s stories. All the while, I struggled with compulsive porn use and sexual encounters, substance abuse, shame and isolation. Desperation led to my own recovery journey, which now forms a passion for seeing others set free to live a life of truth, beauty, and goodness. To walk alongside others into freedom brings me a joy beyond description.

My Story
I’m passionate about helping men engage their story to find freedom from problematic sexual behavior. When I had trusted guides engage my story with curiosity and kindness, I found deeper freedom from my own compulsive behavior and also more satisfying relationships with God, myself, and others. I believe that we are harmed in relationship but also healed in relationship, and I strive to make therapy a place where people can experience such healing.
